Commemoration of the Battle of the Big Hole

The Battle of the Big Hole was fought on August 9 and 10, 1877 between the U.S. military and the Nez Perce. Ceremonies, demonstrations, traditional Nez Perce music and park rangers help visitors understand and remember the Battle.

Driving Directions
Big Hole National Battlefield is 10 miles west of Wisdom on Highway 43, about 100 miles south of Missoula.
