Alder Gulch Gold
Alder Gulch Gold offers visitors of all ages a chance to swirl a gold pan, tour an outdoor collection of mining equipment or watch a demonstration. Instructors, equipment, raw gold-bearing dirt, and vials to keep your finds in are provided. Gold found is yours to keep! Panning - pay by the bucket - 1 bucket provides about 1-hour panning for 4 people. Demonstrations for groups up to 50 people.
Guided walking tours of the outdoor mining museum explain each piece of equipment and the history of how it came to the area. 30- minute tours.
We offer a unique gift shop featuring mineral specimens, jewelry, outdoor equipment and panning supplies. Rock hounds and prospectors are invited to stop by and show their finds.

Alder Gulch Gold is located in Nevada City, 1.5 miles west of Virginia City. From I-90, take the Whitehall Exit and travel 57 miles south toward Virginia City. From I-15 take the Dillon exit to Twin Bridges and travel Highway 287 south toward Virginia City or travel Highway 287 from Norris, Ennis and West Yellowstone.
