Lewis and Clark County Relay for Life
Friday, August 03, 2012 - Saturday, August 04, 2012
Volunteers raise money and do an all night walk/run against cancer to benefit the American Cancer Society. As part of the Relay, candles will be lit in honor of the hundreds of loved ones and friends who have been taken by or have survived cancer. All luminary funds help fight this disease that claims so many livers. Luminaries may be bought for $10.00 each by contacting a team volunteer or the American Cancer Society.
Luminaries will be lit around the track on the first evening, and the field lights will be turned off. At around 10:00pm we will have a ceremony and observe a moment of silence. Walkers and runners will continue their course around the track lit only by these special lights. The Luminary will continue to burn though out the evening in tribute to those who have lost the battle to cancer and to those who are still fighting the disease.
