Gem Mountain Sapphire Mine is slightly over an hour's drive from Butte or Missoula. From Interstate 90, take Montana Highway 1, the Pintler Scenic Route, to the junction of Montana Highway 38, Skalkaho Pass Road (six miles south of Philipsburg), then 16 miles west to our driveway, Sapphire Gulch Lane.
