The Base Camp
Whether you need the right gear for enjoying Montana's wild lands or just quality casual clothing to enjoy life, The Base Camp has it all. Our lines of casual clothing include Patagonia, Royal Robbins, and Birkenstock.
We carry canoes and touring kayaks with all the accessories necessary for Montana's lakes and river. In the winter, we have all your snow needs including cross-country skis and snowshoes.
To find your way around, The Base Camp has an extensive map and book selection. Our staff is also very knowledgeable on the surrounding areas and current conditions. We also teach classes in rock climbing, cross-country skiing, and canoeing.

Directions
You can reach The Base Camp in Helena from Interstate 15 by taking the Prospect Avenue exit. Travel west on Prospect to Montana Avenue. Turn left at the light and follow the ‘to downtown' signs. Go one block south to 11th Avenue, turn right and follow 11th to Last Chance Gulch. At Last Chance Gulch turn left. The Base Camp in on the east side of the Gulch at 333 North Last Chance Gulch.
